เกี่ยวกับศิลปิน : เดือนวาด พิมวนา และประกาย ปรัชญา

เดือนวาด พิมวนา นามปากกาของพิมใจ จูกลิ่น นักเขียนที่อาศัยอยู่ในชลบุรี เมืองติดทะเลฝั่งตะวันออก เธอมีผลงานเขียนหลายรูปแบบซึ่งครอบคลุมถึงเรื่องสั้น บทกวี นวนิยาและวรรณกรรมผสมผสานหลายแนว งานเขียนของเธอได้รับรางวัลทั้งจาก สมาคมภาษาและหนังสือแห่งประเทศไทยในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ นิตยสารวรรณกรรม ช่อการะเกด และรางวัลซีไรต์ในปี 2546 จากผลงานเรื่อง ช่างสำราญ ซึ่งได้รับการแปลเป็นภาษาอังกฤษโดย มุ่ย-เลิศหล้า ภู่พกสกุล ในชื่อ Bright ตีพิมพ์กับสำนักพิมพ์ Two Lines Press ในปี 2562

ประกาย ปรัชญา เป็นกวีพอๆ กับที่เขาเป็นนักอ่าน เขาเร่ิมต้นเขียนกวีมาตั้งแต่ชั้นมัธยมต้นยังคงเขียนอยู่เช่นนั้นจนถึงตอนนี้ ประกายเติบโตมาในช่วงที่มวลความรุนแรงทางการเมืองยังคงดำเนินอยู่ซึ่งรวมไปถึงเหตุการณ์ 6 ตุลาฯ ประสบการณ์ในตอนนั้นผลักให้เขาลงมือทำงานเขียนเรื่อยมา ประกายอาศัยและทำงานอยู่ในชลบุรี




About the artist: Duanwad Pimwana and Praguy Prachya

Duanwad Pimwana is the pen name of Pimjai Juklin, an author who lives in Chonburi, Thailand’s eastern seaside city. She writes in various forms, including short stories, poetry, novellas, and cross-genre fiction. Her works have received awards from PEN International Thailand, the Thai literary magazine Chorkaraket, and, in 2003, the S.E.A. Write Award for her novel Changsamran, translated into English by Mui Poopoksakul as Bright (Two Lines Press, 2019).

Praguy Prachya is as much a poet as he is a devoted reader, having honed his craft since junior high school and continuing to write poetry today. He came of age during a period of political violence, including in the shadow of the October 6 Massacre, experiences that compelled him to put pen to paper. He lives and works in Chonburi.

ภายในพื้นที่ด้านในห้อง ประติมากรรม Listening device สองชิ้น ซึ่งพัฒนาขึ้นครั้งแรกในปีพ.ศ 2567 แนวคิดตั้งต้นคือการให้ผู้ชมนำประติมากรรมนี้ออกไปเดิน เพื่อฟังจังหวะและโครงร่างที่ไม่สม่ำเสมอของพื้นดินขณะที่อุปกรณ์เคลื่อนผ่านและก่อให้เกิดเสียงสั่น เสียงกระทบ และเสียงก้องกังวานที่เกิดขึ้น กลายเป็นประสบการณ์ทางเสียงและร่างกายที่ปะทะพบกับผืนดิน เป็นจุดนัดพบและการทักทายกับสถานที่ Listening device ทำงานกับจังหวะของภูมิประเทศผ่านการฟังเชิงรุก (active listening) สร้างประสบการณ์ทางเสียงที่มีตัวตนทางกายภาพ และพร่าเลือนเส้นแบ่งระหว่างชีววิทยา ภูมิศาสตร์ และนิเวศวิทยา

Tucked away in the inner space of the gallery are two Listening device sculptures. First developed in 2024, the initial idea was for people to take the sculpture for a walk, to listen to the rhythmic, irregular contours of the land as the device traverses and generates impact sounds with the ground. Vibrating, impacting, and resonating sounds generated from the device become a sonic and bodily encounter with land––a meeting and greeting point with place. Listening device proposes another embodied sonic experience that blurs the boundaries between biology, geography, and ecology.
