Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for the opening of Nakrob Moonmanas’s solo exhibition, curated by Alex Ungprateeb Flynn. The evening was filled with thoughtful conversations unfolding across the gallery, shared moments among the works, and both our cherished community and newcomers coming together to celebrate the beginning of the exhibition’s journey.

We’re live! Tune in for “The Unfinished Work of Seeing”
an afternoon conversation with artist Nakrob Moonmanas and curator Alex Ungprateeb Flynn, moderated by Kasamaponn Saengsuratham, to explore the questions at the heart of รูปสุวรรณศิวิไลซ์: Metamorphosis in Gold.
Moving between anthropological and curatorial inquiry, archival research and speculative practice, the discussion takes as its starting point the figure of Kanang — a Maniq child brought to the court of Rama V within the broader project of ศิวิไลซ์, civilisation — and asks what it means to see across difference, to question what the historical record can hold, and to consider the potential of art to remake what remains unresolved. The conversation will be followed by a curator-led walk through the exhibition.

About the Artist
Nakrob Moonmanas (b.1990) is a visual artist based in Bangkok, primarily working with Thai literature and history as well as their discourse and relations to the global narrative.

His focus centers on exploring memories of Thai visual arts and cultures through the process of collage, as he endeavors to unveil and question them in various forms and dimensions. Infused with a contemporary aesthetic, the juxtaposition of local and exotic fragments creates an alternative chronicle, prompting a reexamination of the past.
