“ความสำคัญของงานประตูประดับมุกชุดนี้ นอกจากจะยืนยันถึงความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างประเทศไทยและญี่ปุ่นแล้ว ทางญี่ปุ่นเองยังได้ใช้งานประดับมุกชุดนี้ซึ่งมีหลักฐานบันทึกถึงอายุที่ชัดเจน เป็นตัวกำหนดอายุงานประดับมุกที่ประเทศญี่ปุ่นทั้งประเทศ”
Sarakadee Lite พาไปชมเบื้องหลังขั้นตอนการอนุรักษ์ “บานไม้ประดับมุกศิลปะญี่ปุ่น” สกุลช่างนางาซากิ ประเทศญี่ปุ่นที่ถือว่าเป็นแหล่งใหญ่ มีมากถึง 114 ชิ้น ณ พระวิหารหลวง วัดราชประดิษฐสถิตมหาสีมารามราชวรวิหาร ซึ่งนี่นับว่าเป็นครั้งแรกของนักอนุรักษ์ไทยสำหรับการอนุรักษ์งานประดับมุกศิลปะญี่ปุ่นที่มีความบางเพียง 0.07-0.08 มิลลิเมตร
ความท้าทายของงานอนุรักษ์ครั้งนี้เริ่มตั้งแต่ขั้นตอนการพิสูจน์ว่านี่คือมุกจากญี่ปุ่นจริงๆ ซึ่งต้องอาศัยความร่วมมือของช่างมุกระดับอาจารย์ของทางญี่ปุ่น ร่วมด้วยนักวิจัยด้านอนุรักษ์จากญี่ปุ่นที่ศึกษาลงลึกไปถึงองค์ประกอบทางเคมีของเนื้อไม้ กาว ยางรัก และชนิดของหอยที่นำมาใช้ในงานประดับมุก
และเมื่อชัดเจนแล้วว่างานชุดนี้เป็นฝีมือของช่างมุกแห่งเมืองท่านางาซากิ ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ความยากต่อมาคือขั้นตอนการอนุรักษ์ ซึ่งถือเป็นครั้งแรกของทีมอนุรักษ์ไทยภายใต้กรมศิลปากรที่ได้ทำงานอนุรักษ์ชิ้นงานประดับมุกแบบญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งมีความแตกต่างจากงานประดับมุกไทย เฉพาะขั้นตอนอนุรักษ์ระยะที่ 3 นั้นต้องใช้ระยะเวลาในการทำงานนานถึง 5 ปี (พ.ศ. 2564 – 2568)

⭕ในหนังสือเล่มนี้ประกอบด้วยพระราชหัตถเลขาภาษาอังกฤษจำนวน ๑๙ ฉบับ เรียงตามเวลา และแปลเป็นภาษาไทยกำกับไว้ โดยพยายามรักษาคำศัพท์และสำนวนให้ใกล้เคียงกับการใช้ภาษาในรัชสมัยและสอดคล้องกับพระราชนิยมด้วย
⭕ ฉบับแรกพระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงเขียนในเดือนกรกฎาคม พ.ศ.๒๓๙๗ เมื่อเซอร์จอห์น เบาว์ริง เตรียมจะเดินทางเข้ามาในสยามสิ้นสุดด้วยพระราชหัตถเลขาในเดือนมิถุนายน พ.ศ.๒๓๙๘ เมื่อทรงทราบข่าวการเดินทางถึงสิงคโปร์ของเบาว์ริง ก่อนที่จะเดินทางไปฮ่องกง
⭕ หนังสือเล่มนี้ เป็นหนึ่งในหนังสือที่ระลึกในวาระ ๑๕๐ ปี แห่งการสวรรคตพระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว พ.ศ.๒๕๖๑ ที่แสดงให้เห็นถึงพระอัจฉริยภาพทางการทูต และมิตรภาพอันยาวนานของพระองค์ที่มีต่อ "สหายใจดีคนเก่า" อย่างเซอร์จอห์น เบาว์ริง

✅The Fine Arts Department and Ministry of culture of Thailand cooperate with National Museums of Japan that will hold the special exhibition “Thailand: Brilliant Land of the Buddha” in 2017 at Kyushu National Museum and Tokyo National Museum for celebrating the 130th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity between Thailand and Japan.

NEW SUPREME PATRIARCH'S CAREER AS A MONK
His Holiness Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana (Amborn Ambaro) was born in 1927 and ordained as a novice monk at the age of ten-years old, the new supreme patriarch is 89 years old and has spent almost 80 years in monasteries.
He graduated from Mahamakut Buddhist University in 1957 in religious studies and then obtained a master's degree in history and archaeology from the Banaras Hindu University in India.
Mahamakut Buddhist University presented him an honorary doctorate degree in 2009.
Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University presented him an honorary doctorate degree in 2010.
He has been the abbot of Ratchabophit Temple in Bangkok.
He is also a member of the Sangha Supreme Council.
