WHY I STILL LIVE 🏘️ WITH MY MOTHER.
I wanted to make this post to give you another perspective not many people talk about (especially if you actually love your parents).
Tim Urban, founder of the Wait But Why blog, talked about this idea that over 90% of the total time you’ll be able to spend with your parents is already over by the age of 18 (or whenever you decide to leave the house).
Why? Because the number of days you’ll see your parents drops to a few weeks a year to even a few days if you left the country to live some place else when it used to be everyday.
I also realized that a lot of people who were in their late 20’s, 30’s and 40’s have seen at least one of their parents die (my father passed away when I was 22).
This is the point I’m driving.
Don’t just make decisions because everyone else wants you to make them. Make choices that make the most sense to YOU, and for ME, it was spending time with my mother and sister while I grind out MasterTalk, rather than spending money to rent a place to live alone in.
What makes the most sense to you?
