On Friday 01/05 we had several performers entertain us at lunchtime in the Garden between Buildings C and D. Although we had some heavy rainfall just before lunch, the weather stayed nicely dry during our performances, which included our Y13 BTEC students and different solo performers. However, towards the end we had to stop because our lightning detector app warned us of potential imminent strikes. Sadly, this meant that the final performers didn't get to play - we hope that they will come play for Summer Music in the Garden.

Next performance will be Live from the Overcroft, which will take place on Tuesday 02/06 after school 15.30-17.00 in the Auditorium - family and friends, please save the date to come see our talented students rock the stage!

Our secondary students demonstrated advanced vocabulary, linguistic precision and confidence under pressure at the KS3 Spelling Bee - which was a fantastic success again this year, with 32 students initially taking part and 9 progressing to a highly competitive final. The atmosphere was both exciting and tense as students demonstrated impressive dedication, having clearly learnt their spellings to an exceptionally high standard. After several challenging rounds, we were delighted to crown our overall winner Panwara from 8CC, alongside two well-deserved runners-up, Greta from 7MP and Avril from 9NR.

Congratulations to all who took part for their hard work and enthusiasm. It was an outstanding achievement all round!

Congratulations to Ryan in Year 13, who has received offers from University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, University of Michigan, Ku Leuven, The University of Edinburgh, Warwick University and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to study Engineering
