Gem joined us as an intern and leaves having grasped something many designers take years to see. At Concept i, the idea comes first, but it is the exploration around it, the cultural context, the research, the testing, that gives a design the foundation to succeed.

Lighting is felt long before it is noticed.

That was the thread through our Bangkok studio last week, when Cesare Vezzani of LODES joined us. Directors Francesc Domingo and Natalie Chelliah sat in, and the talk turned to lighting that is responsive, sustainable, and crafted to carry emotion.
