8 สิงหาคม ของทุกปี เป็นวันอาเซียน หรือ ASEAN DAY ซึ่งเป็นวันที่จัดขึ้นเพื่อแสดงถึงเหตุการณ์เมื่อวันที่ 8 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2510 ที่สมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ได้ก่อตั้งขึ้นที่กรุงเทพมหานคร โดยมีสมาชิกผู้ก่อตั้ง 5 ประเทศ
