The Message of Light🪵🌾
“From the traditional Lanna house to contemporary architecture, light that carries the heart back to cherished memories”

ท่ามกลางบรรยากาศเมืองเก่าเชียงใหม่ที่อบอวลด้วยกลิ่นอายของวัฒนธรรมและความทรงจำ การรีโนเวทอาคารในครั้งนี้เป็นโปรเจกต์ของ Ziri ที่สื่อสารแนวคิด “Light : ความสว่าง สงบ เบาสบาย” ผ่านการตีความสถาปัตยกรรม “เฮือน” แบบล้านนาในบริบทใหม่ เผยให้เห็นความงามของการผสมผสานระหว่างอดีตและปัจจุบัน และส่งต่อความรู้สึก สบายกาย สบายใจ เหมือนการกลับไปเยือนบ้านหลังเก่าที่เต็มไปด้วยความทรงจำอันยาวนาน

บ้านเก่าที่เล่าเรื่องใหม่
การสำรวจ site ครั้งแรกเผยให้อาคารมีอายุและร่องรอยของกาลเวลา แต่ในขณะเดียวกันก็เต็มไปด้วยศักยภาพที่จะต่อยอดไปสู่ฟังก์ชันใหม่ อาคารขนาดกะทัดรัด ไม่โอ่อ่าจนเกินไป จึงเหมาะที่จะเป็นสปา ที่เน้นความอบอุ่นเป็นกันเอง
ภายใต้กรอบแบรนด์ Ziri ที่ยึดแนวคิดเรื่องความเบาและสบาย ประกอบกับองค์รวมของไซต์ จึงชวนให้นึกถึง “บ้านเก่าของคุณย่าคุณยายห่างไกลเมือง”—สถานที่ที่พ้นไปจากความวุ่นวาย ปล่อยกาย ปล่อยใจและเข้าถึงความสบายและสงบอย่างบอกไม่ถูก และในขณะเดียวกัน ก็ไม่ลืมที่จะปรับให้เข้ากับบริบทและวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น เพื่อให้ตัวอาคารมีความผสมผสานและ กลมกลืนเข้ากับพื้นที่
เฮือนล้านนา ถูกนำมาเล่าใหม่ผ่านรายละเอียดดั้งเดิมตั้งแต่ก้าวแรกที่เข้ามา กรอบหน้าอาคารที่หยิบเอาแป้นน้ำย้อย องค์ประกอบสำคัญของเฮือนล้านนา ลดทอนและพัฒนาในแนวคิดร่วมสมัย ช่วยดึงความสนใจให้กับคนที่ผ่านไปมา ในขณะที่ภายในนำเสนอบรรยากาศที่เป็นกันเองแต่แผงไปด้วยรายละเอียดของวัฒนธรรมและสะท้อนวิถีชีวิตเฮือนโบราณได้อย่างดี เราใช้ข้อดีของอาคาร สร้างสเปซสูง-ต่ำเพื่อให้เกิดความหลากหลายทางอารมณ์แก่ผู้ใช้บริการ ประกอบไปกับการใช้วัสดุที่ดูธรรมชาติ ดิบ มีความ rustic สะท้อนความจริงแท้ของกาลเวลา เสริมให้บรรยากาศโดยรวมมีน้ำหนักทางวัฒนธรรม
“สว่าง สงบ เบาสบาย” แนวคิดการออกแบบภายในเน้นการเชื่อมโยงกับธรรมชาติและความรู้สึกทางประสาทสัมผัส แสงธรรมชาติที่ลอดผ่านบานหน้าต่างไม้เก่าเข้ามา เกิดเป็นบรรยากาศนุ่มนวลซึ่งสะท้อนกับสวนไม้สีเขียวภายในอาคาร “สงบและเบาสบาย” ถูกตีความผ่านการเคลื่อนไหวในพื้นที่ ผ่านการประยุกต์วัสดุโปร่งเบาที่สามารถสร้างการพริ้วไหว มาแขวนอยู่เหนือ double ceiling ทำให้เกิดการเคลื่อนไหวอ้อยอิ่งในอาคาร เกิดเป็น pattern ของเงาและการเคลื่อนไหวที่ช่วยสร้างมิติใหม่เสมือนการจำลองสายลมที่ไหลผ่านเรือนในอดีต ทั้งยังเป็นการถ่ายทอดความนิ่งสงบที่ไม่หยุดนิ่ง แต่เคลื่อนไหวอย่างอ่อนโยน สถาปัตยกรรมที่เป็นสะพานเชื่อมอดีตและปัจจุบัน
การออกแบบครั้งนี้เสมือนการสร้างความหมายเชิงสถาปัตยกรรมที่เชื่อมโยง Ziri ผ่านการสื่อสารเรื่อง The Message of Light แสงที่สอดลอดเข้ามาสร้างความเบาสบาย กลายเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของการเยียวยาและการฟื้นคืนพลัง ขณะที่ความสงบในทุกมุมของพื้นที่คือการเชื่อมโยงการออกแบบและวัฒนธรรมอย่างกลมกลืน เสมือนการส่งผ่าน “ข้อความ” ที่บอกเล่าความงาม ความทรงจำ เติมเต็มความหมายของการกลับสู่ความสงบในจิตใจ

Amid the historic atmosphere of Chiang Mai, this renovation project by Ziri conveys the concept “Light: bright, calm, and gentle.” The design reinterprets the traditional Lanna heuan in a contemporary context, blending past and present to evoke the comfort of returning to a familiar home filled with memories.
The survey revealed an aged building marked by time yet full in potential for new function. Its modest scale suits a spa that emphasizes warmth and intimacy. Guided by Ziri’s concept of lightness and comfort, the design evokes the atmosphere of a grandmother’s countryside home—a retreat from the city—while adapting to local culture and blending naturally with the contemporary urban context.
The Lanna house is reinterpreted through original details, starting from the first step inside. The façade adopts the traditional paen nam yoi element, distilled into a contemporary form that captures the attention of passersby. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, layered with cultural details that reflect life in the old Lanna home.
By using the building’s strengths, spaces are designed with varying heights to create emotional variety. Raw, rustic materials highlight authenticity and the passage of time, giving the overall ambiance cultural depth.
“Bright, calm, and light” defines the concept, emphasizing connection with nature and sensory experience. Natural light filters through aged wooden windows, softening the space and merging with indoor greenery. Lightness and calm are conveyed through floating materials suspended above the double ceiling, casting shifting shadows and evoking breezes once flowing through traditional homes—tranquil yet alive.
The design acts as a bridge between past and present, embodying The Message of Light: illumination as a symbol of healing and renewal. Calmness permeates every corner, harmonizing culture and design, carrying a message of beauty, memory, and the return to inner peace.
