There is no better place to learn about tribal culture than the Hilltribe Museum and Education Center located right at the heart of Chiang Rai.
The Hilltribe Museum and Education Center was established to provide Tourists in Chiang Rai with basic information about the culture of the six major tribal groups in Northern Thailand. These tribal groups include the Akha, Hmong, Karen, Lahu, Lisu, and Yao.
All tourists who want to visit hill tribe villages can come to the hill tribe museum in town first. You might also be interested in visiting a real hill tribe village far away from Chiang Rai. We therefore offer tour services if you wish.
Slide Shows: We have a 20-minute slide show featuring the culture of these six tribal groups and can be heard in any of 6 languages “ Thai, English, French, German, Chinese, and Japanese.
Also available upon request are the following topics: Weaving, the Aquatic Resources of the Mekong River , Community-based Tourism, Human-Trafficking Prevention.
Facilities: Hilltribe Museum has a total floor space of about 650 square meters. We have an audio visual room that can seat 50 persons.
Social Projects: Each year, the Hilltribe Museum distributes sweaters and blankets to tribal people in remote villages, economically disadvantages persons, persons with HIV/AIDS and orphans. You may also drop your unwanted clothes or toys so we can distribute them to persons that desperately need them.
Business Hours: If you are interested in studying and visiting the handmade products from different tribes. Can be viewed at the 3rd floor, the Population and Community Development Association building, Chiang Rai, Pda building, next to Seven Suan Tung, Thanalai Road.

สไลด์โชว์: เรามีสไลด์โชว์ความยาว 20 นาที นำเสนอวัฒนธรรมของชนเผ่าทั้ง 6 กลุ่มและสามารถฟังได้ในภาษาใดก็ได้จาก 6 ภาษา “ ไทย อังกฤษ ฝรั่งเศส เยอรมัน จีน และภาษาญี่ปุ่น นอกจากนี้ยังมีหัวข้อต่อไปนี้ตามคำขอ: การทอผ้า ทรัพยากรน้ำในแม่น้ำโขง การท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน การป้องกันการค้ามนุษย์

โครงการเพื่อสังคม ในแต่ละปี พิพิธภัณฑ์ชาวเขาแจกจ่ายเสื้อกันหนาวและผ้าห่มให้กับชาวเขาในหมู่บ้านห่างไกล ผู้ด้อยโอกาสทางเศรษฐกิจ ผู้ติดเชื้อ HIV/AIDS และเด็กกำพร้า คุณยังอาจทิ้งเสื้อผ้าหรือของเล่นที่คุณไม่ต้องการ เพื่อให้เรานำไปแจกจ่ายให้กับผู้ที่ต้องการอย่างยิ่ง
