🚨 BIG UPDATE: Flying in Restricted Airspace Just Got Easier (2026)

We’ve got even better news for drone pilots in Thailand 🇹🇭

Starting April 1, 2026, permission to fly in areas under the Royal Thai Air Force (including Air Force Base 7) can now be requested directly through the UAS Portal app 📱

✅ No more applying directly with Air Force Base
✅ Fully digital process via UAS Portal
✅ Faster and more streamlined approvals

📌 Additional updates:
• You can request flights up to 1 month in advance
• Minimum notice: at least 24 hours before your flight

❗ Still important:
• Areas within 9 km of airports require additional permission

This is a major step toward making drone flying in Thailand more accessible and organized.

Stay updated. Fly legal. Fly smart. 🚁

🌊 This view? 100% possible... but only if you fly legally.

To capture footage like this in places like Koh Samet, you’ll need:
✔️ CAAT registration
✔️ NBTC permit
✔️ Permission from the National Park

📸 With the right approvals, Thailand offers some of the most stunning drone locations in the world.

❗ However, keep in mind:
There is currently a drone ban in the Pattaya area, so flights in that zone are still not allowed, even with registration.

📌 Always check local restrictions before takeoff.

Flying your drone in Thailand again? Don’t assume your registration is still valid.

Thailand’s drone registration process changed in 2026, and many returning pilots now need to update their permits before flying.

✔️ Registered in 2026? You may only need the NBTC permit (1,200 THB)
✔️ Registered before 2026? A new CAAT + NBTC registration may be required.

Avoid problems, fines, or grounded flights — check your status before you fly.

🌴 Stunning drone view of Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi 🇹🇭

Crystal-clear water, dramatic limestone cliffs, and one of Thailand’s most famous beaches — it’s easy to see why this place is on every drone pilot’s bucket list.

❗ But did you know?
Koh Phi Phi is part of a National Park, which means special permission from the park administration is required before flying a drone here.

Flying without permission can lead to fines or confiscation of your drone.
