π± Hey friends! πΏ Today, let's dive into the world of materials and explore the differences between Pine Resin and Polyurethane.
π²πΏ Pine Resin: Pine resin is a sticky, viscous natural substance ,known for its versatility and durability, this natural resin is a fantastic choice for our eco-friendly β»οΈ startup.
It's a type of material that can be derived from plant-based sources, making it more sustainable and reducing our reliance on fossil fuels.
It's also resistant to water, chemicals, and UV radiation, ensuring long-lasting results π.
Polyurethane or PU : It is a petroleum-based plastics toxic material β οΈ, that is made from fossil fuels π’
It is neither biodegradable nor recyclable π«β»οΈ, it is among the biggest culprit behind our growing problem of microplastic pollution.
In fact, Polyurethane leather will take upwards of 500 years to degrade !
Moreover, the manufacturing of Polyurethane is associated with high energy consumption βοΈβ‘ up to hundreds of KWh /ton compared to the low energy consumption in the pine resin extraction or production.
At GLBA, we're committed to finding innovative and eco-friendly π± solutions every step of the way. By exploring alternatives like plant-based resins, we're striving to minimize our environmental footprint while creating beautiful, sustainable products.
Together, let's embrace these materials and make a positive impact on our planet! ππ
