IMPORTANT UPDATE ON SHORT TERM TOURISTIC RESIDENCE PERMIT RENEWALS:

The Immigration Office has announced to accept short term touristic residence permit renewal applications for all countries.

Foreigners who have exceeded their stay after 01.01.2020 and are currently illegal in Turkey can apply for renewals without having to leave Turkey.

New renewal applications which were submitted due to rejection after 01.01.2020 will be considered.

Renewal applications which will be submitted before expiry date will also be considered.

Duty fee payment will be double for the above applications.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT FROM IMMIGRATION OFFICE:
Foreigners who have been granted 1 year or longer (called "short term") touristic residence permit will not be allowed to renew their residence permit from 01.01.2020 unless they have reasonable circumstances to stay as non-tourist.

NEW REQUIREMENTS ON WORK PERMIT APPLICATIONS:

Effective from 26.02.2018, employers must have e-signature and a KEP account for online work permit applications. Both can be obtained from local post office by company signing authority.

KEP is a new system which provides more secure way to send/receive formal emails to/from the Ministry of Labor.

Work permit applications submitted before 26.2.2018 and is still on review process will be treated based on the previous requirements.

Work permit applications submitted before 26.2.2018 but review process not started yet will be treated based on the new requirements.

For initial work permit applications (except domestic worker applications), employers must register the company details on the system and then authorise the 3rd party individual/company to proceed with the rest of the work permit online application.

As the applications will be submitted by e-signature, Application Form, Application Letter and/or any other document is not required to be sent to the Ministry of Labor by post.
