This is the very first one of my new Pasha series. The intention of this series is to give a some of the Pasha's a contemporary look. ⁣

Mahmud Shevket Pasha (1856 – 11 June 1913) was an Ottoman general and statesman of Chechen origin, known particularly for his leading role in establishing the Ottoman military aviation program. He was Grand vizier of the Ottoman Empire from 23 January 1913 until his death by assassination.⁣

The 𝑳𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒏 𝑺𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 are actually oil paint sketches. I decided to start this small-sized works with the condition that each work should take 1 to 2 hours maximum and be done in one layer. It's challenging to get the work done alla prima. But I'm enjoying to do this in between my bigger paintings.⁣

Portrait of a bohemian, Fausto Zonaro (1854-1929). Oil on wood panel. ⁣
👨🏻‍🎨 He is definitely one of my favorite artists all time. He has a characteristic appearance in my opinion. So I enjoyed every brush stroke I applied to the panel. While painting his portrait I was basically with my thoughts in his history and story, his impressionistic landscapes of Istanbul and his artistry. ⁣

🎀 And the good news is, for me anyway, with a bit of luck I will soon be able to get a work by him. So I'm so nervous and happy! Can't even describe these emotions. Wish me good luck! 🙏🏻⁣
