Today we welcome Menachem 26 to The Dj Cookbook family. shared an old Sephardic Jewish recipe called Armi de Tomat, a tomato and rice stew that is made of tomatoes, onions and parsley.

A favorite thing of ours is discovering family traditions, and Menachem 26 beautifully captures that spirit. Menachem 26's grandfather, the original Menachem, is the handsome man on the cover of this post.

Osunlade shared with us his favorite pantry staple, Avjar. An eggplant, chili pepper, and tomato sauce made with fire-roasted red peppers. Typically used as a condiment, its origins are in the ex-Yugoslavia countries, and it is enjoyed mostly in Southeast Europe.

The veteran producer makes a mean and easy pasta dish with Avjar; a must-try!
