GSM is looking for a PROJECT COORDINATOR
Background
GSM-Youth Services Centre was established in 1985 in Ankara for the purpose of contributing to the personal, social and cultural development and supporting the active participation to societal and economic life of the youth. Since its establishment GSM realizes local, national and international level projects on various topics, supported by European Commission, Council of Europe and UN Agencies. In order to develop new projects, implement them in a better way and increase the impact of the projects GSM is looking for a Projects Coordinator in Ankara office.

Starting Date: 19 September 2016
Duration: 12 months with a possible probation

Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in civil society field
Have knowledge and experience in preparing project applications under various national and international programs especially under Erasmus+ program (other programs such as IPA will be an asset)
Have knowledge and experience in project cycle management as well as implementation of KA1 and KA2 projects
Comprehensive working and/or voluntary relations with Non-Governmental organizations
Actively follows the developments in youth field especially the programs created by European Union and United Nations
Very good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
Fluent written and oral knowledge of the Turkish and English
Willingness to up skill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management

Tasks and Responsibilities
The following tasks and responsibilities are expected to be fulfilled by the Project Coordinator:
Responsibilities
The project coordinator is responsible for;
developing new project ideas
following and analyzing various programs for funding opportunities
implementing day-to-day activities of the project leading towards the achievement of the project objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior
coordinating project initiatives to cooperate with a broad range of stakeholders
follow-up on implementation of activities to ensure the quality of the project
innovation and knowledge management and quality assurance

Tasks
a. Implementation of project activities
The project coordinator,
assists and monitors the development and implementation of project plans and activities in close consultation with his/her counterparts
deals with the design, preparation and implementation of workshops, seminars and other events on issues connected with the project
develops and organizes quality assurance measures and suggests necessary changes, improvements and initiatives

b. Networking and cooperation
The project coordinator,
supports cooperation, regular contact and dialogue with partners, relevant organizations, non-governmental organizations and individuals in the project environment and with other projects to improve and maintain good working relationships
communicates local interests and efforts, forwards these and encourages sharing ideas and information for the benefit of the project

c. Knowledge management
The project coordinator;
ensures knowledge transfer to project
develops ready-to-use strategies and technical concepts, including guidelines, manuals and procedures
draws up reports and presentation documents
prepares appropriate input for various project reports including annual reports, and contributes to the other reports required by the program manager

d. Coordination tasks
The project coordinator;
assists with general project planning and develops project concepts including preparation, organization and moderation of planning exercises and their implementation, management, monitoring, quality management, evaluation, communication and documentation
coordinates relevant project activities in consultation with the manager and in cooperation with the partners, both as regards implementation and preparing organizational aspects

The organizer of GOBI is ITU Investment Club. Investment Club is founded in 2002 at the faculty of management at Istanbul Technical University. Istanbul Technical University is one of the world’s oldest technical universities with a long history of 250 years.

GOBI (Global Opportunities in Business and Investment) which is going to be organized its eighth between 10-15 April 2016 in İstanbul; hosts completely different cultures from 30 over countries and allows the leading names of different sectors to be heard their voices all around the world.

GOBI offers an intensive learning environment while entertaining its participants. Students learn the experiences of CEOs and seize the opportunities in business area; in addition to that, they also have a chance to meet different cultures.

Dream Relived Annually
GOBI is an international student summit. As ITU Investment Club, the organiser of GOBI, eight years ago we realised our dream and came up with GOBI. Now, with tens of students from all over the world, we relive that dream every year.

ITU Maçka

ITU Maçka is one of the campuses of Istanbul Technical University. It contains the faculty of management and Mustafa Kemal Theatre which hosts the conference of GOBI. The whole building complex has been constructed by the two members of the famous emperial architecture family, Simon and Sarkis Balyan between 1861-1862. The Maçka Artillery is a three-storey building and has been handed over to the Command of Gendarmerie at the end of Ottoman period.

The first entertaining part of GOBI is the opening ceremony which forms the first day of the program: the 10th of April, 2016. It includes the opening speeches of GOBI'16 and a magnificent show of an famous performer.

On the evening of the first day of the conference, on the 11th of April, the participants from different countries get a chance to meet eachother more closely. After dinner, all participants join this party to introduce themselves and their cultures.
