📣TAIWAN OPPORTUNITY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Students from around the world are invited to join the Taiwan Experience Educational Program now offered by the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology.

The program focuses on “One Health in wildlife: A Systematic Approach to Wildlife Vaccination”, and provides hands-on experience in wildlife health research, laboratory work, and interdisciplinary approaches.

Students will stay one to two months between April and December 31, 2026, with a monthly stipend of NTD 15,000 to cover airfare and expenses whilst in Taiwan, and accommodation support provided.

Senior undergraduate or graduate students in veterinary medicine, biology, or related fields are eligible to apply, with applications open from now until October 31, 2026.

🐍【 蟒蛇巢狀病毒：從寵物到野生動物 】🐍

「哇！這隻球蟒好漂亮，我想帶牠回家!」
近年來，特殊寵物的飼養風潮越發盛行，然而隨著物種頻繁地跨國貿易與交流，疾病的流動也變得更加複雜且難以捉摸，讓人不禁會好奇，繁殖場、寵物店、甚至我們家中是否會影響台灣本土的野生動物，又或者影響我們人類呢？

🔬 從寵物到野生動物的傳播鏈
本次講座我們將聚焦於 「蟒蛇巢狀病毒」(Nidovirus)。這不只攸關家中寵物的健康，亦深深影響生態的平衡。從家中寵物到野生動物的傳播鍊究竟是怎麼發生的？讓我們來從病原一探究竟。

One Health的概念告訴我們，人類、家畜和野生動物、植物以及整個環境之間的健康是密不可分且相互依賴。在公衛風險日益增加的當代，目前還有甚麼可以改善的地方，我們又能夠做甚麼呢？

李文達 病理獸醫師

通過台灣病理獸醫師專科考試認證 （病專字0035號）
盤古林國際生醫顧問有限公司：負責人，動物病理診斷 (伴侶、圈養和野生動物)。
中華鯨豚協會：常務理事/病理獸醫師，協助擱淺鯨豚/海龜之疾病調查。
獸丘第三方診斷實驗室：病理顧問，小動物和特寵之病理診斷。

博士 (PhD) 台灣大學獸醫學研究所
病理住院醫師 台灣大學分子暨比較病理生物學研究所
美國佛州Fishhead Labs, LLC ：博士後/病理獸醫師；各類動物的病理診斷和研究工作。
