🔹 It is the red pigment of the cyanobacteria that gives the characteristic red color to the open waters of the lake and orange color to the shallow water of the lake.
⠀
💧 Is the water of Lake Natron red throughout the year?
⠀
🔹 No. Since the variety of colours changes due to the evaporation process and concentration level of cyanobacteria, the best months to visit Lake Natron are July and August.

⠀
🔹 Not quite. The dead animals which fell into the water They get calcified and hard, but not stone.

🐆 Português no primeiro comentário ⬇️ "Myths are afraid of truth!" Let's finish our series of misconceptions about Africa. For beginning and continuation press here 👉 .
⠀
😱❌ In Africa there is a dangerous criminal situation: thieves and bandits are all around.
⠀
In fact, everything is much better than most people think. Especially in Tanzania. Foreign guests are treated with respect, police works well to protect the peace and justice. The usual precautions must be observed:
⠀
👉🏻 do not walk in the dark alone in unfamiliar places;
👉🏻 do not bring along expensive gadgets and big amounts of cash money in crowded places, like markets, etc;
👉🏻 choose decent hotels with good reviews (they guarantee protection against thieves).
⠀
Better yet, contact us to arrange a trip. We live here! We will advise where it is best to stay and give even more useful recommendations that will protect you from potential troubles.
⠀
😱❌ Africa is in a constant political unrest and civil war.
⠀
Once upon a time. The long years of struggle for independence from Britain and France, the redistribution of territories, economic and social instability – all this is behind. Now in most African countries the government is democratic. Elections are held, economics, education, medicine and, of course, tourism are developing.
⠀
Remember that Tanzania is one of the safest and most prosperous countries of the continent. Best choice for first-timers to explore Africa 😍

🐆 Português no primeiro comentário ⬇️ ☪️ Eid Mubarak to our dear readers and colleagues who practise Islam! As for the rest, perhaps, you will be interested to know what kind of holiday it is and how Muslims celebrate it in Tanzania and Zanzibar.
⠀
☪️ Eid al-Fitr is a holiday of Muslims all around the world. It is also celebrated in Zanzibar and in many coastal areas of East Africa, the majority of whose population professes Islam.
⠀
☪️ Eid al-Fitr comes after the end of the fast – a holy month of Ramadan, which is determined by the lunar calendar.
⠀
☪️ For the holiday, people buy new clothes for themselves, and especially for children. This day, people visit relatives with their families and walk around the city.
⠀
☪️ Men and women attend morning prayer in a mosque or in the open air. After the prayer, they return home for breakfast, which usually consists of spiced milk tea, chapati, cakes, peanut butter, rich chicken or beef soup.
⠀
☪️ For lunch, the main dishes are white rice with sauce, pilau or biriani with spices and meat.
⠀
☪️ After lunch, children and adults dress up for walking and attending various entertainments – playgrounds, attractions, food courts, and other events specially prepared for this day.
⠀
☪️ In the evenings, many young people go out for dinner and night clubs to dance and celebrate.
⠀
☪️ Eid al-Fitr lasts 2 days, and many Muslim Tanzanians go on short family trips: some drive to Zanzibar beaches, some go on a safari, others visit to historical ruins and other cultural and natural attractions which Tanzania has to offer.
⠀
☪️ This day, people greet each other with the phrase “Eid Mubarak!”, which means “blessed holiday” in Arabic. Since Tanzania is a country where Christianity and Islam have coexisted for centuries in peace and mutual respect, it is a good courtesy when Christians greet their Muslim colleagues or friends saying "Eid Mubarak" (Muslims also congratulate Christians on Christmas or Easter).
