When I say I am doing the work, I mean it. I have joined forces with to really dive into my purpose and how to keep joy in my passion for public education. We’ve had two amazing sessions so far and more to come. If you are wondering why I have been so quiet with ECEL it is intentional as I try to sit back, rest, and find a way to ground myself in order to help find solutions. Hopefully real solutions that will help students, teachers, parents, and leaders alike. I don’t know what that is yet….. will it be a career pivot into policy and advocacy? Will it be something all together different? I can’t let my fellow colleagues and students continue to be in this abusive relationship with the educational system. We can’t just let it continue to be “broken” and shrug off “solutions” because there is no profit incentive. If we can spend as much energy as we do to “keep America safe” we can start by helping the mental health and well being of our people, specifically starting in the classroom.
