This text shows how the Tribe of Levi was to be organized in performing their duties. It had 3 clans; the Kohathites, Gershonites and the Merarites. Each clan had certain duties given to them by God through Moses and Aaron concerning the tent of meeting and everything inside it. These clans where to serve under the priests supervision, that is Aaron and his sons.

These clans where not allowed to touch the holy things in the tent of meeting. If anyone one decided to touch anything holy, they would die instantly. This means they never had access themselves to the Holy of holies though they were levites, Vs.15b and Vs.20.

One thing that amazes me is how today everything changed after Jesus’ mission on earth. Everyone that believes in Him gets access to the throne room, the Holy of holies. In other words you get access to God Himself, His presence.

“and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Revelation‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” Revelation‬ ‭5:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

These two verses image out our identity[What we really are]. Jesus made us priest because only priests can access the throne room, the Holy of holies, access God’s presence according to the Bible. So Jesus not only shed His blood once and for all to take away the curse of sin but also to give us access to God directly wherever and when ever we want to talk to Him.

Child of God, you are neither a Kohathite, a Gershonite nor a Merarite who never had access to the throne room yet they were Levites, you are the redeemed of God, the son and priest in the kingdom. Moreover Jesus also made us kings here on earth to reign over anything that tries to raise it’s head above us.

Child of God, don’t limit your self to common things that the world offers you, you’re a king and a priest. For Christ’s sake, you have to live above everything created by your father through Jesus because He gave you authority and dominion over every creation.
