In, “incase we give you the role of ……would you be willing to take it instead of the one u applied for?” Question.
Don't say:
❌ “That’s not really my responsibility”
Why: You will come out n feel rigid and uncoachable.
✅ Say instead : “That’s not my main focus yet, but I’ve stepped up to similar tasks and learn quickly.”
Don't say:
❌ "I'm open to anything"
Why: Shows you lack focus and direction
✅ Say Instead: "I'm particularly interested in this role X
because it aligns with my expertise in [specific skill]"
In salary related questions;-
Don't say:
❌ “Whatever you think is fair” (salary)
Why: Passivity only undervalues you.
✅ Say instead : “Based on market research and role scope, I’m targeting a range from X to Y.”
Don't say:
❌ “This isn’t quite what I was looking for”
Why: You'll sound disengaged and also rigid.
✅ Say: “While it differs from my original plan and expectations, I’m excited about the offer and am ready to negotiate for a win win position.
In, “Do you have any questions for us?”.
Don't say:
❌ " I don’t have any questions."
Why: Shows lack of preparation n limited research on the job expectations n about the company
✅ Say instead:
"What are the key challenges facing the team right now?" or "What does success look like in this role?"
Don't say:
❌ "How soon can I get promoted?"
Why: Shows you're already looking past the role
✅ Say Instead: "What does success look like in this role?"
Don't say:
❌ "What's the salary?" (as first question)
Why: Makes money seem like your only motivation
✅ Say Instead: "Could you tell me more about
the role's scope and growth opportunities?"

Why should we hire u?
This is u closing argument u should make sure its evidence based and compelling enough. Don’t start replying how u are hard working committed blah blah blah. Provide evidence of relevant results and achievements, highlight u unique qualifications, experiences and skills that make the best fit for the role, tie u answer back to the job description and how u can add value to the team, make sure u articulate u unique values u are also going to bring to the organization. (e.g., “My experience in [skill] and passion for [company mission] make me a strong fit to contribute to [specific goal).
