Charlie Mugga Teenage Cancer Run 2026: A Race for Hope, Awareness and Change

LONDON, UK – The fight against cancer is often described as a marathon, not a sprint. On August 2, 2026, that message will come to life as hundreds of participants gather at New River Sports Centre in Wood Green, London, for the Charlie Mugga Teenage Cancer Run 2026, an inspiring event aimed at raising awareness about teenage cancer while celebrating resilience, hope and community action.
Held under the theme “From Remission to Mission,” the run is being organized by the Charlie Mugga Teenage Cancer Initiative as part of Day Three of the Uganda Health & Business Expo UK.

The event seeks to bring together cancer survivors, families, health advocates, community leaders and supporters in a shared effort to shine a spotlight on the challenges faced by teenagers battling cancer.
The initiative draws inspiration from Charlie Mugga’s personal journey and transformation from a cancer survivor into an advocate determined to create awareness and support for other young people facing similar battles.

Organizers say the run is not only about physical fitness but also about giving hope to patients and survivors while encouraging early diagnosis, treatment and community support.
Participants will have the option of taking part in either a 5-kilometre or 10-kilometre run, making the event accessible to both seasoned runners and casual participants. Registration includes a running kit, with participation fees ranging between £20 and £30.

The event will run from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at New River Sports Centre, White Hart Lane, Wood Green, London N22 5QW.

Beyond the race itself, organizers have lined up a vibrant family-friendly programme designed to celebrate Ugandan culture and foster community engagement. Attendees can look forward to face painting for children, a bouncing castle, live band performances, traditional Ugandan cuisine, Nyama Choma, and various prizes to be won throughout the day.
