A few months ago, Simba Group of Companies, together with Ibanda Community Organization Network (ICON), launched the first-term distribution of chess boards to schools, continuing a shared commitment to empowering young people through strategic learning.

The program kicked off at Kagongo Secondary School, where students received the chess boards with excitement as they started building their school chess club. Through that first-term rollout, many schools benefited from the initiative, creating more opportunities for learners to develop critical thinking, patience, discipline and problem-solving skills.

The initiative reflected our belief that education goes beyond the classroom. It is also about shaping young minds to think strategically, lead confidently and create solutions for the future.

We were proud to partner with Ibanda Community Organization Network (ICON) in expanding these opportunities for students across Uganda.
