At Women In Technology Uganda, we are strengthening how digital skills training is delivered to ensure it is accessible to all women.

Over the past two days, our trainers have undergone intensive training in 𝐉𝐀𝐖𝐒 (𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞), a screen reader that enables persons with visual impairment to independently use computers through audio output.

Trainers also took part in simulation exercises, working blindfolded to experience how persons with visual impairment navigate computers using screen readers. This builds practical understanding, not just technical knowledge.
