A 30 minute session for the Panthers Rugby Club and Black Pearls Rugby Club forwards on scrummaging, with an emphasis on the tight 5, was held by Victor Wadia, a former Uganda Rugby Cranes international player and the current head coach for Panthers. This equipped the players with the correct technique such that they can scrummage safely during matches.

Yesterday morning's interactive Life Skills sessions were run by Emilly Lekuru, Susan Nambozo, Fionah Karungi and Stephen Alul "Buju" with players from Black Pearls Rugby Club , Panthers Rugby Club , Njeru rugby club and RTL Lakalatwer.
Emilly, Susan, and Fionah are Black Pearls players, while Stephen is a Black Pirates player. All 4 drew on their personal life experiences to talk about balancing rugby with school/work, growth and development on and off the rugby field, discipline, platonic and romantic relationships etc.
The younger players also had a Life Skills session run by Anne Alan Sizomu on staying in school, discipline, respect for each other and positive relationships, personal care and health, how to navigate challenges at home, school and rugby, who to talk to and how to seek for help.

Our Story
Rugby Tackling Life (RTL) was formed to offer an alternative option to Ugandan girls and young women on how to approach the daily challenges in their lives as well as explore their sporting talent through rugby. RTL was registered as a Ugandan Community Based Organisation (CBO) in October 2016 and was then registered as a Ugandan Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) in February 2018. RTL is not just about rugby, we strive to educate our players and impart life skills to them so that they can comfortably navigate life off the rugby pitch. RTLs reach has so far been in Apac, Alebtong, Arua, Busia, Gulu, Jinja, Kampala, Kamuli, Kitgum, Lira, Oyam, Pakwach and Wakiso.
