I had the privilege of stopping by Absa Bank Uganda and picking up my kit for the Absa KH3 – 7 Hills Run 2026 — straight from the Managing Director himself, David Wandera.

And yes… I went all in with the CEO Kit.

But more importantly, I didn’t come alone — I got kits for my family too. Because this isn’t just a run. It’s a cause.

Every step we take is about something bigger: Running so she can stay in school. Running so she can have a future.

This is your moment too.

Go out, get your kit, choose your distance, and be part of something that truly matters. Whether it’s 5KM, 10KM or the full 25KM — just show up.

NB: Those worried about the size of my stomach and whether I can run… me too, I am worried. But we shall cross that bridge when we get there. For now — let’s buy the kits.

Let’s run. Let’s show up. Let’s do this for her.

In my many years of business journalism, I can arguably say that Fabian Kasi is one of Uganda’s most consequential indigenous business leaders of our time.

What has always struck me about Fabian is the rare blend he carries so effortlessly — humility, intellect, generosity of spirit, and an unwavering focus on results.

For more than a decade, he has quietly led one of the most remarkable institutional transformations in Uganda’s banking sector, growing Centenary Bank into the country’s second-largest bank, expanding its reach to millions of Ugandans while building an institution that is both profitable and deeply trusted.

Yet if you meet him, what you notice first is not the scale of the numbers — it is the calm, grounded leader behind them.

That is precisely why, when we began conceptualising the League of Extraordinary Leaders (LXL) East Africa podcast, I could not think of a better business leader to start with.
In this premiere conversation, Fabian shares reflections on leadership, trust, continuous learning, delivering results, and preparing the next generation of leaders for the responsibilities ahead.

This short clip captures just a glimpse of that conversation.
