DID YOU KNOW!
A group of buffalos in the modern world is called “herd”!
The Herd Size is highly variable. The core of the herd is made up of related females, and their offspring, in almost linear dominance hierarchy. The basic herds are sorrounded by subherds of subordinate males and old animals. The young males keep a safe distance from the dominant bull which can be identified by the thickness of its horns.
There’s a tendency for male groups to form what is called bachelor groups, and this happens mostly during dry seasons.
Buffalos have few predators that include lions and large crocodiles and ofcourse human hunters.
Book your tour now to encounter these members of the “big five”.
