Happy Labour Day!

Today, we celebrate and honor the incredible staff of Children Justice Initiative for your unwavering dedication, compassion, and sacrifice. Your work goes far beyond a job — it is a calling that brings hope, dignity, and transformation to some of the most vulnerable children in our justice system.

Every effort you make to advocate for, support, and restore the lives of imprisoned children creates a lasting impact that cannot be measured. Through your commitment, many young lives are being given a second chance, a voice, and a future filled with possibility.

On this Labour Day, may you be reminded that your service matters deeply. May God continue to strengthen, guide, and reward you for the difference you make each day. Thank you for standing in the gap and for being a light where it is needed most.

This past week, something truly special happened at the main facility.

We were given the opportunity to share the story of Jesus Christ by video. Through a film translated into Luganda, the children didn’t just watch… they understood. They encountered the true meaning of Easter in a language close to their hearts.

As His story unfolded — His love, His sacrifice, His resurrection — something began to shift.

Hearts softened.
Eyes opened.
Hope was stirred.

And that day, more than 20 children gave their lives to Christ.

To make the day even more meaningful, Sixty Feet / CJI Ministries provided a simple but special addition — a chapati for each child alongside their meal. It may seem small, but it brought joy, dignity, and a tangible reminder: they are seen, loved, and deeply valued.

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” — John 11:25

This Easter, because of your support, we were able to provide 530 special meals to children living in juvenile detention facilities in Uganda.

In a place where resources are scarce and hope can feel distant, something as simple as a warm, nourishing meal becomes a powerful reminder: they are seen, they are valued, and they are deeply loved.

As we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus, we were reminded that light meets us even in the darkest places. It was a joy to share that hope in a tangible way.

A recent report in Uganda reveals a sobering reality:
• 230,000+ students each year don’t make it to Senior Four (10th grade)
• Nearly 1 million drop out before completing O-levels (US high school diploma equivalent)

Poverty, school costs, early pregnancy, and difficult learning conditions all play a role.

That’s why our team walks alongside vulnerable students—through school visits, community follow-ups, and ongoing guidance—helping them stay in school and complete their education.

Through our programs, we aim to equip students to break the cycle of poverty, become independent, and pursue meaningful employment.

By the grace of God, we recently held a mini medical camp and group counseling session for 24 boys at a transitional home with our partner, Benjamin House Ministries.

Access to medical care is a major challenge for these boys, and we’re grateful we could help meet this need. We also shared testimonies, listened to their struggles, and encouraged them through counseling. We are truly grateful for this partnership and all that God is doing through it.

Benjamin House Ministries thank you for the incredible work you do!
