Still on our Semuto Visit

If you are some one that did school in an urban school setting or call it first world class school, you would definitely not be comfortable with a real rural school setting. Everything is different!

However the one thing that remains uniform for both urban and rural students is the desire to make or have a brighter future, which is also limited tonthe resources available to both students.
You will also note that the challenges young people face during their teens and early twenties are quite similar in nature to a certain extent. The temptations, the peer presures, the hormonal changes raging within their bodies which cause them to ask ceratin questions, plus ofcourse issues froms home etc….

However, with the students in rural setting the challenges often escalate when it comes finanaces, the distance between school and home, early responsibility of parenting and lack of exposure which cuts short the size of the dreams for the future.
Basing on these facts was our discussion with the amazing young people from semuto.

Our base for the day was at Fort Jesus secondary and our host was the chaplain an amazing young man that decided to go back to his childhood area and have do some work among and with the young people of the area.

We shall keep sharing about what the day was like in the course of the week.
