Here's a story worth reflecting on: On Christmas Day in 1937, during a football match between Charlton Athletic and Chelsea, a thick fog descended onto the pitch. The fog became so dense that the match had to be called off. But there was one player who didn't realize it—Charlton's goalkeeper, Sam Bartram. For 15 minutes, Bartram stood alone in front of the goal, unaware that the game had been abandoned. The noise from the crowd had drowned out the referee's whistle, and none of his teammates thought to inform him. It wasn't until a policeman approached him that he learned the match had ended long before.

When asked about the incident afterward, Bartram expressed his surprise and disappointment that his teammates had forgotten he was still guarding the goal.

This story teaches us an important lesson: In life, you can be diligently guarding the goals of your family, friends, or company, but sometimes, you may find yourself forgotten or overlooked. However, there is one who never forgets—God. So, be mindful of whose goals you are guarding, and remember that even if others may forget, God always remembers you.
