The Mosquito Control Division has been conducting mosquito control since July 1978.

The Mosquito Control division of the City of Aberdeen will be conducting a city-wide ground application for mosquitoes on Thursday, August 28th between the hours of 8:00 PM and 1:00 AM.

The Mosquito Control surveillance program has identified a growing population of mosquitoes, including the Culex species - the most common carrier of the West Nile Virus. Due to the rising numbers, the upcoming holiday weekend, warmer temperatures, and increased outdoor activity immediate action is necessary.

City officials urge citizens to take reasonable precautions to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.

You can reduce the risk of getting West Nile Virus by eliminating mosquito habitat around your property, applying insect repellents, and wearing proper clothing when outdoors.

The Mosquito Control division of the City of Aberdeen will be conducting an aerial application for mosquitoes on Sunday, August 10th between the hours of 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM. The division will then be conducting a city-wide ground application for mosquitoes on Monday, August 11th between the hours of 8:30 PM and 1:00 AM.

Mosquito Control surveillance program has identified West Nile Virus in Aberdeen as well as a high number of the Culex species which is the most common carrier of the West Nile Virus.

City officials urge citizens to take reasonable precautions to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.

The Mosquito Control division of the City of Aberdeen will be conducting a city-wide ground spray for mosquitoes on Wednesday, August 6th between the hours of 8:30 PM and 1:00 AM.

The adulticiding equipment is noisy and travels at 10 mph. The mosquito control trucks are identified and travel with a flashing yellow light. To ensure spray effectiveness during the spraying operations, the wind must be 15 mph or less and no inclement weather present. Winds higher than 15 mph or inclement weather will result in the spray being suspended until conditions improve.
