Thank you, United Way of Northeastern SD Foundation! We are able to scale up with some much needed computer systems!

One of our favorite moments of the year is when the United Way NESD Foundation teams up with member agencies to purchase some much need items that don't fit into their general budget. These are the type of actions that help great nonprofits scale up and out more than before. Congrats to our 2026 grant recipients!

Aberdeen Film Showcase is excited to welcome South Dakota filmmaker Andrew Kightlinger! -March 28 -NSU JFAC -Event Page: https://www.facebook.com/share/1D5PuMgPeA/

Andrew’s work has reached far beyond our region. His latest feature, Lost on a Mountain in Maine—produced by Sylvester Stallone—was released in theaters and went on to reach Netflix’s Global Top 10. He also wrote and directed Tater Tot & Patton, and is a Slamdance Screenplay Grand Prize winner.

He was recently commissioned by Fujifilm to write and direct the short film OKAY, created using their new GFX ETERNA cinema camera. This is the film Andrew will be screening at the Showcase—a powerful, character-driven story that blends emotion with cutting-edge filmmaking tools.

But what matters most to us is this: he’s a filmmaker with South Dakota roots who has built a path in the industry while staying connected to story, place, and people.

At the Showcase, Andrew will be part of a filmmaker panel and conversation about the craft, the process, and what it takes to keep creating in South Dakota or beyond.
