Statue Of Famed Ponca Chief Set For Niobrara NIOBRARA, Neb. — Chief Standing Bear and his Ponca Tribe were driven from their homeland in the 1870s, forcefully relocated by the federal government from northeast Nebraska to Oklahoma.
