Our Story

Uptown Rustic has had many adventures. We started out as just a Facebook business page that custom painted and distressed furniture for customers. As this trend grew we expanded to selling furniture in antique/ flea market booths. Painting furniture started out as just a hobby while I stayed home with my little boy and grew into a business that still flourishes today. As I begin to plan birthday parties for my little one, people loved my decorating and began asking if they could hire me to decorate their events. This new part of my business began to grow quickly. I planned and decorated many parties and smaller events until one day a lady from my small town called me with interest in me planning and decorating for her daughters wedding. I was so shocked and unsure if I could pull it off. My first wedding was a huge success and the word got out quickly about my event planning business. Once my little one started pre K, I knew I wanted to do something more with my business. I decided to open my store front in Starkville. At first I was unsure what all my darling little store on Lafayette would offer, but I knew I wanted to mainly advertise my event planning and the rustic and vintage rentals I had collected. I soon decided that I would just make my boutique a collection of things I love. I had jewelry, clothing, furniture, bath products, and the list goes on... The boutique side of my business really picked up as I was voted Starkville’s Best Boutique 2018. Being located on a side street really had its slow days. This made me want to move to Main Street. In Sept. 2018 I moved to my now location at 220 E Main St. We were voted Starkville’s Best Wedding Planner 2019 not long after we moved. We offer event planning services, decorating services, and boutique shopping. We also now offer shopping on our page for those of you who can’t get to our store. We have started posting pre sales as well as in stock items. We cant wait to share with you what new adventure 2020 will hold for Uptown Rustic. Keep in touch with our page for updates! -XOXO
