Growing Home Together
Caring for the soul of your family. We share an addiction to coffee, books, and Christmas music. We can’t wait to grow together with you.

This time of year can come with a lot of expectations.
The pressure to fill every day with fun. To make memories that last a lifetime. To say yes to every opportunity. Before long, it's easy to wonder if you're doing enough.
But today we want this to be your permission slip to simply be.
To shop at the grocery store instead of feeling like you should be tending a garden.
To blow up the wading pool in the backyard instead of stretching the budget for water park tickets.
To grill hot dogs without apologizing that they aren't organic, grass-fed steaks.
To spend an evening riding bikes around the neighborhood or playing at the park instead of filling every week with camps and activities.
To set aside half the projects list and embrace that rest is productive, too.
If you've been feeling "less than" this summer, take a deep breath and release the pressure to make every day extraordinary.
Perhaps the most meaningful memories are waiting to be made in the simple, ordinary moments you've been tempted to overlook. ❤️

Sometimes the greatest gift we can give ourselves and another family is simply asking, ""How can we help each other this week?""
This summer, lean into the village God has placed around you. It doesn't have to be elaborate. Often, it's the small acts of care that lighten the load the most.
☀️ Swap child care so each family gets a few quiet hours to rest or catch up.
🛒 Take turns picking up groceries or running errands.
🍲 Buddy up and spend an afternoon making freezer meals to share.
🚶♀️ Meet a friend for an early-morning prayer walk before the day begins.
☕ Surprise the mom who's having a hard week with a text and a digital gift card for an iced coffee.
👕 Gather a few families for a hand-me-down exchange before everyone outgrows another season.
The beauty of a village isn't that someone else carries all of your burdens. It's that, together, everyone carries a little.
Which idea could you do for another family this summer? We'd love to hear in the comments. ❤️

You’re doing all you can to hold it together. But your sleep is suffering. Your breath is shallow. Your body is constantly on edge, waiting for the next threat to your well-being. You find yourself too tense and distracted to be fully present in your work or with the ones you love. You wonder if you’ll ever know true peace again.
Today, the Lord is inviting you into his rest. Instead of pointing fingers at your struggle to cope, his arms are open wide to fold you in. He knows your triggers. He holds deep compassion for the past wounds that still ache. He draws close in the night when your thoughts are racing and you’re desperate for relief. And as your Father and Provider, he stands ready to bring the help you need right where you are.
May God’s love meet you and breathe peace into your spirit, one moment at a time.
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. (Psalm 62:5)

"As we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy this Fourth of July, we're also thinking of the military families spending today apart because of deployment.
Distance brings unique challenges to a marriage, but it doesn't have to weaken it.
In a past blog and podcast, Kristi Woods shares practical, faith-filled encouragement for couples navigating separation, including:
• Building your marriage on Christ
• Praying intentionally for your spouse
• Communicating with grace and seeking understanding
• Standing on God's promises, even across the miles
If you or someone you love is walking through deployment, we hope these resources remind you that God is present in every mile between you.
Happy Independence Day, and thank you to the brave men and women who serve our country and the families who serve alongside them.
