As Hurricane Irma swept across South Florida in 2017, the resulting storm surge wrecked a 1.2-mile stretch of shoreline in Key Biscayne, a barrier island near Miami, FL.

Between March and April 2021, crews led by Ferreira Construction Co., Inc. trucked in approximately 31,000 cu yds. of new sand to rebuild the damaged beach and dunes and maximize shoreline protection for the future.

Fantástica, a Brooklyn-based design firm, teamed up with TRINITY HIGHWAY RENTALS and Hollaender, a manufacturer of aluminum fittings, to create this flexible, seating and dining module concept for restaurants looking to expand to outdoor dining in an efficient, but aesthetically pleasing way.
