SAFE 64 Traffic Safety Initiative

On Thursday, June 4, the Addison Police Department will be joining several law enforcement agencies from DuPage and Kane Counties for the SAFE 64 Traffic Safety Initiative, a regional effort focused on safety along the Illinois Route 64 (North Avenue) corridor.

As part of this initiative, drivers can expect to see an increased police presence on North Avenue throughout the day. Officers will be focusing on traffic violations that continue to be major factors in serious crashes, including speeding, distracted driving, impaired driving, seatbelt violations, aggressive driving, and commercial vehicle violations.

The goal isn’t simply writing tickets – it’s preventing crashes, encouraging safe driving habits, and keeping everyone who travels through our community safe.

Job Opportunity at the Addison Police Department

The Village of Addison is accepting applications for one full-time, non-exempt Clerk Typist position in the Police Department.

This is an entry-level secretarial classification working under direct supervision, performing general administrative support functions within the Police Department. The position includes routine and non-routine clerical duties and related tasks. Duties require some independent judgment and initiative, along with knowledge of the operating policies and procedures of the assigned section. Work is of routine difficulty and is reviewed by the Records Supervisor, Assistant Records Supervisor, or designee for compliance with established procedures.

Salary range is $60,391 – $83,596. The Village anticipates hiring at or near the starting pay of the position’s pay range. The application deadline is June 27, 2026 at 5:00 PM.
