Strengthening the foundation, one move at a time! 💪
With our physical therapist, Ms. Myers!

Today’s session focused on core & leg strength, using the floor scooter to work on coordination and stability. With simple directions, verbal cues, and a bit of teamwork, our larger goal here is mastering safe stair negotiation 🚶‍♂️🪜. We love a fun transition (jump/hop) into our sessions!

Little steps for big progress!

🌟 Turn-Taking Tips for Social Skills! From our Social Worker, Karina!🌟

Helping little ones learn to take turns is a big step in building their social skills! Today, we’re diving into tips and sharing a social story on turn-taking. 🌈💬 Here’s how you can support turn-taking at home:

👉 Model Positive Behaviors: Children learn by watching! Show them how to wait, take turns, and be kind with others. Be their best example! ✨

🤸‍♂️ Arrange Play dates: Playdates with small groups give kids practice interacting, sharing, and taking turns. Try a playdate or trip to the park and even join in the play! 🎠

💛 Teach Empathy: Reading stories and talking about feelings help children understand empathy. Encourage kids to express how they feel and recognize others’ emotions. 🥰

🗣️ Encourage Communication: Practice phrases like “my turn” or “your turn” so they can feel empowered to use their voices or gestures to share.

📚 Social Stories for the Win: Social stories with visuals reinforce these skills, especially for kids who learn best by seeing and hearing examples! Try reading these once a week and practicing the skills throughout the day. 🌟
