Hi everyone! I was made aware that there are currently some issues with my voicemail not allowing people to leave a message - I am so sorry for the inconvenience! I will work on fixing that ASAP but in the meantime please feel free to just text with any intake requests or other questions! Thank you!

Hi everyone. This afternoon we had a heartbreaking unexpected loss in the flock. I am going to be closed to intakes and unresponsive to messages for the time being. I need time to grieve and am unable to commit to caring for new birds with how devastated I am. Please forgive the inconvenience & thank you for understanding.

Hello! I am looking for volunteers interested and able to help with raising orphaned baby birds this spring. A bit more information on the help I am seeking can be found below. This would primarily be for nestling songbirds but may occasionally extend to orphaned pigeons as well.

If you are interested, please fill out the volunteer application linked below! Over the next couple of days, I will also be making posts for a few other "positions" I am looking for help with. You will see that this application does have those other positions listed already, so if you see anything you may be interested in, feel free to select any in your application even if the post has not been made yet. Thank you for your time! ☺️

[ADOPTED!!!! Thank you so much to my wonderful friend Jill for giving Daisy a perfect home!]

Tentatively putting out feelers for an experienced home for Daisy (who is almost certainly male, despite the fact that I still call her "her"). Daisy came from a humane case that I assisted with at the beginning of the year. We believe Daisy is an approximately six year old ringneck dove. She is well socialized with people, but also pretty independent and would rather interactions be on her own terms - she doesn't want cuddles or pets. She is also incredibly pushy with other doves and generally has to be kept separately - she may not be a good candidate for a companion for pre-existing doves. This is the primary reason we are looking to place her now - she is not thrilled about the other doves we have here, and we do not have the capacity currently for her to be kept somewhere entirely separate, so I would love it if she could find a home where she would receive her own space.

For the most part, she is incredibly healthy and happy, but you will probably notice in the pictures below that her beak is very messed up. We assume this is a direct result of occasionally being housed with a quaker parrot in her old home, and think it is likely that at some point the beak was grabbed. She is also missing a couple of toenails, probably for the same reason.

The reason that I am specifically wanting a home with bird experience for her is that the beak is in need of regular maintenance, moreso than the average dove due to the fragile state of the keratin. It often bleeds during trimming and filing, as it was left overgrown for quite some time, so there is a blood supply. It is also very crumbly. I would ask that these trims only be done by a vet if you do not have the experience personally. I think it is possible that with time and patience her beak will be more resembling a "normal" dove beak, but it will take careful upkeep and maintenance.

Feel free to comment or message me with questions if you have any! If you think you may be interested in bringing Daisy into your home, please fill out my adoption application here:
