Need a little help? You can always call a downtown Akron ambassador. You’ll recognize them by their bright blue or yellow shirts and friendly smiles.
Ambassadors work 7 days a week, rain or shine, to keep downtown clean, safe, and welcoming. They tidy up litter and graffiti, maintain the neighborhood’s planters and hanging baskets, check in on businesses, help visitors with directions and information, offer safety escorts, and can help stranded motorists who need a jump or who’ve locked their keys in their cars. They also help connect unsheltered folks with resources available through Community Support Services .
Ambassador services are available Monday – Wednesday, 7 am – 9 pm; Thursday – Saturday, 7 am – 11 pm; and Sunday, 7 am – 8 pm.
Call them at 330-706-7383.
