One of the best pieces of advice I’ve gotten as a concert photographer is “don’t forget to look behind you every once in a while.” The crowd isn’t just watching the show; they are part of it. It can be hard to turn away when in the pit for an artist as dynamic as , but I’m glad I looked back to get this shot of a mom and her younguns being simply amazed and stunned by the music and performance. One of my favorite shots from ’s summer season opener. I just wish I’d gotten the mom’s info; I love capturing the moment, but I’d love it even more if I knew they could always look back on it through this image.
