Stratton plays a vital role in ensuring the safe operation of Alaskan fishing vessels by enforcing NOAA fisheries regulations. NOAA oversees the management of commercial and recreational fisheries within U.S. waters, aiming to safeguard and promote sustainable fish populations. Alaska's fisheries are some of the nation's largest providers of seafood and are a critical component of our economy. Alaska's seafood industry averages $5.6 billion in total annual economic activity for Alaska. Our efforts in enforcing regulations and ensuring safe practices are essential in supporting this vital industry.

So far, Stratton has conducted 17 boardings while patrolling the Bering Sea. Boardings are no easy task for our small boat crews and boarding teams, and often involve enduring rough seas and freezing temperatures for hours. Bravo Zulu to our boarding teams and small boat crews for their hard work and dedication!

This fall, 12 crew members from the Combat Systems Department spent a day volunteering for Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. Crew members helped demolish parts of a condemned Oakland house in preparation for home renovations. These home improvements will enable a local family to purchase an affordable and safe home.
Bravo Zulu to the Combat Systems Department for embodying the Stratton culture of Respect and Take Care of Each Other.
