Tango here!

My sister Lulu passed away on September 12th and we are all very upset. Please pray for us. I miss her a lott!!! Dad wrote this below.

Love,
Tango

"Our Beloved Lulu passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12th at Upstate Veterinarian Specialists due to internal complications. She was 12 years old.

Eight years ago, Lisa adopted her through Peppertree Rescue. Lulu was a Staffordshire mix. Lisa said it was Lulu’s eyes that made her want to take her home.

Many of you know of the story of how my wife and I met, but it’s worth retelling. In October 2021, Lisa and Lulu were out for their daily walk and stopped at the corner of my street. I yelled over to them, “Hey, can I pet your dog?” Lisa said, “Sure!” I came over to pet Lulu, and she was clearly protective of her “Maw.” Three years later, Lisa, Lulu, Tom and Tango piled into The Van and headed north for a 2 week honeymoon in Canada. What an amazing experience we had, and it would not be the same without the “kids.”

Lulu was the perfect family dog. Lisa described as “the nicest girl ever.” “Mrs. Boop” was kind, patient, loyal, gentle, low maintenance and loving; all the same traits that Lisa possesses herself. Lulu was our indoor introvert dog, and balanced well with Tango our outdoor extrovert dog.

This is the very last photo I took of her on Thursday afternoon in our backyard. She was simply enjoying the warmth of the grass and rays of the sun on a beautiful September day.

My favorite memory happened each evening. After dinner, the four of us would go upstairs and chill out in the bedroom simply reading and relaxing. We all loved the silence and just being together as a family. We would often remark that it was the best part of our day. At 8:59pm, “Little Girl” would then bark to let us know it was time for her and Tango to go out and p*e and then get their nightly treats from Lisa.

My mom, Maud, will miss Lulu greatly. She was also very attached to her “Food Watcher.” Lulu loved to nap in her Adirondack chair in the living room keeping an eye on my mom during the day. Tango loved her very much, and he will miss his sister dearly. Lisa and I are just so devastated. We’re doing our best to properly grieve. Please keep us in your prayers.

To my “Missy Lulu,” I am so grateful for your unconditional love and sloppy kisses. I will miss our morning walks, saying good night and everything in between. Most importantly, thank you for being my best matchmaker and bringing Maw into my life. That will be your legacy and you will reside in our hearts forever. You will always be my “Precious Little Princess Girl.” You meant absolutely everything to us.

In honor of Lulu, we request donations made in her name to Peppertree, Inc. at https://peppertree.org/donate/
