**SEVERE WEATHER THREAT INCREASING** Latest radar shows a well-defined Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) moving into New York State. Wind gusts as high as 70-80 MPH are being detected by Doppler radar just above the ground. The atmosphere is unstable but cloud cover has limited how truly unstable things could have been today. Nonetheless, it seems likely that this MCS will make it's way into many parts of the Capital Region between roughly 3:00-6:00 p.m. We'll have to see if it weakens or maintains intensity. If it stays this strong or strengthens, expect localized to fairly widespread wind damage and an isolated tornado threat. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in effect until 8 PM.

->A higher than usual threat for wind gusts up to 60-80 MPH are possible with any semi-organized thunderstorms or a squall line moves through your location. Main timeframe will be 12:30-3:30 PM today
