It was a pleasure to watch students compete in Read the World: Motivational Reading Program's annual Jeopardy Competition, with students from Smith, Warring and Clinton Elementary Schools.

Great to see how this competition gets kids excited about reading! Thank you to Sheba Abrahaim for running this successful program, and congratulations to this year's big winner 🏆

Last weekend's gun buyback was a huge success, with more than 100 guns turned in, including:

• 19 assault weapons
• 55 handguns

Thank you to the City of Poughkeepsie and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department for their help with this program. One less gun in circulation is one less gun that can get into the wrong hands and lead to violence in our community.
