Nights are getting cold rodent season is here , I have a few tips to help protect your home or apartment from mice and rats
# 1 inspect the exterior of your home
Remove clutter away from perimeter
Move fire wood 25 - 50 feet away removing potential rodent harborage is essential
# 2 find and seal all accessible openings on exterior old pipe openings , ac unit , basement window frames , use , steel wool, copper mesh , silicone , foam
# 3 remove any food sources from garages & sheds ( ie grass & bird seed place in metal tin with lid )
Keep garage doors closed , especially at nite
# 4 when setting mouse traps place them in unfinished areas first
Basement, garage , crawl spaces , don’t wait to catch them in your kitchen or pantry
#5 mice can enter openings the size of a dime , rats a quarter so don’t think the openings are to small to seal , you will find excluding the rodents is a much better option than catching them all winter
