Charlton – Thomas W. Lansley, 79, of Charlton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late William Y. and Virginia Lansley.

Tom was a 1966 graduate of Colonie High School. As a member of the US Navy, Tom served with the military police at Guantanamo Bay. He worked for over twenty-five years at Dott’s Garage and then with Nationwide Insurance in multiple capacities. Tom enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s events and was an active sports booster. Tom was predeceased by his beloved canine companion, Hope.

Tom is the beloved husband of fifty-five years to Susan Tobler Lansley. He is the devoted father of Capt. Thomas E. (Meaghan) Lansley USN, Keith W. (Staci) Lansley, Emily (Paul) Zaferiou. Tom is the brother of Mary Jane Lansley and Daniel (Claudia) Lansley. He is the proud Papa of Maggie, Tony, Katie, Lucy, Alainne, Neala and Kaelynn.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Tom’s family on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 4 to 7 pm at Jones Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. Funeral services with full military honors will take place on Tuesday at 1:00 pm at Gerald B.H. Solomon National VA Cemetery, Schuylerville.
