Raising the Pride Flag over Civic Plaza.
City officials, and community members ring in the start of Pride Month in Albuquerque by raising the Pride flag over Civic Plaza. There is a performance by the New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus, and Dee Dee Van Carter M.C. this special event.
Mayor Tim Keller and Aviation Department leadership preview a new public history exhibit, Spirit of the Sunport: ABQ’s Aviation Heritage, opening at the Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) as part of its once-in-a-generation renovation project. The exhibit features interactive displays, historic artifacts, aviation history, Indigenous cultural history, and public art stories connected to the Land of Enchantment.
City officials will provide updates about the Guaranteed Basic Income (GBI) program and share some of the life-changing success stories from participants. The City’s GBI program targeted helping parents of 3rd graders at two low-income schools with a monthly payment of $750 per-family.
