👃🏽Nose: German chocolate cake, dark chocolate fudge, toasted coconut flakes, soy tannins, caramel topping, black tea, anise, cloves, and cinnamon
👅Taste: Dense layer of German chocolate cake, double dose of chocolate, caramel and fig, vanilla extract, anise, cloves, subtle notes of tart dates & prunes, and black currants
🧮Score: 4.5/5.0
🤔Thoughts & Impressions: Who’d of thought a heavy aging in a bourbon barrel would’ve brought so much fruit medley to a stout. Poured blind you’d easily mistake it for a cherry stout or wine aged stout. This is an intense version of your BCS and as lucky as I feel right now to try this thanks to , the more I want in my glass! The extra aging is something fantastic and even better than what you’re accustomed to with this beast of a brew. It’s surprisingly not wildly complex but damn does it deliver what you need. When a stout is this intense there’s not much else you need to say, really. Oh wait, one more thing, please Lawd bless me with some Reserve this year 🙏🏽

In this latest review I share my thoughts on the latest release of Lady Bird Cognac Finished Bourbon Whiskey. If you know about Texas, you know some things aren’t big enough, but does this bourbon deliver big? Who does it speak to?
Whiskey deets:
Lady Bird Texas Straight Bourbon Finished in Cognac Casks bottled at 57% ABV (114 proof). Aged 4-5 years in American white oak barrels, then infused for 8-9 months with wildflower honey before being finished in French Cognac XO Casks for 3 Years.
