Introducing my (Zuni) clan collection!

The influence for my clan collection came from petroglyphs. Often, while hiking the Zuni area you come across petroglyphs and if you closely you might see clan representation through the carved or painted images. The style of petroglyphs are fairly simple but very profound and beautiful. It was in painting a dress for a competition that I felt inspired to replicate petroglyph styled clans and later, I worked on digitizing them. Once I had them made into PNGs I was able to create some crafts with the designs.

So far I’ve done a range of things with them including window and car decals, stickers, tshirts and even a mirror for my Sun clan auntie (photo below 👇🏾) The possibilities for these clans are wide and I love working with them!

In having gained some new and appreciated followers this past week, I will be having a give away! I will be giving one large youth (white) tshirt and accompanying clan sticker to one special person. My good friends Matt and Brandon started their own auto maintenance services 🔧 in the Zuni area and had asked if I could create a logo for them as well as a few tshirts.

I decided to use a wrench for the outline and filled the inside with some tribal designs that I felt reflected both of them. It was different creating a more masculine design but in the end it came out great and they both approved it for their business logo!

Once the logo was made I was able to create their tshirts with the logo on the back and their names in the front.
