Save the Date: NMED Public Hearing on Project Jupiter Air Permit

WHEN: Monday, October 19th, 2026 - Beginning 9AM and to continue as necessary

WHERE: Sunland Park Multi-Generational Center

NMED’s order (see link in bio) says it will be held in hybrid format (in-person and over Webex) in English with accommodations for people with limited English proficiency.

Written comments can be submitted to the NMED website. The written public comment period started on July 16 and ends on October 23. Verbal comments during the hearing will start on the first day and at various times throughout the hearing. General commenters will be sworn in. Comments are limited to 3 minutes.

NMED prematurely sent public notices to newspapers with the incorrect hearing date of August 17. The public hearing on Project Jupiter’s Air Permit application for Yucca Growth Infrastructure (YGI), is in fact scheduled to start on October 19th.

Stay tuned for opportunities to prepare your public comments. Project Jupiter will pollute our air, use too much precious water, and is an extraction project by billion dollar out-of-state corporations that has been plagued by a lack of transparency and accountability. New Mexico says no to Project Jupiter!
